At the beginning of winter, we hope you are all doing well.We are pleased to advise that Keita Sugiura’s second solo exhibition “Inkjet” will be held at CASHI gallery.
The winner of Victor Pinchuks Prize for GEISAI MUSEUM#2 followed by Bronze Prize for GEISAI#11, Keita Sugiura, is an up-and-coming young photographer who keeps acting energetically at home and abroad.
His sharp and delicate landscape printed on the mat paper is characterized by its unique blackness hardly portrayed on the glossy C print. With the touch so smooth and beautuful that it looks like a painting, you could not stop getting captivated.
Yet, the attraction of Sugiura’s works is not limited to the darkness of the jet black.
In the group exhibition “Box of Niepse/right” held last fall, he presented a photograph of the pure white cloud hardly seen without your concentration, his ongoing challenge against kind of parochial expressions in full contrast with his charm with black.
In the upcoming exhibition, Keita Sugiura’s additional potential will be presented, including a series entitled “Something to Lead Where Nothing Exists,” released in ANA MEETSARTS last year, along with some new works not yet open to public.
The artist will join the opening reception on the first day, March 5.
You are cordially invited to join this exhibition to take a look at these artworks.
